People-Focused Activities
Our organization focuses primarily on people rather than on businesses, because we consider influencing the economic, social and political environment of the tourism industry a key element of our mission. As a non-profit organization, our role goes beyond supporting commercial interests. We concentrate on supporting the individuals and groups who have direct contact with tourism, including industry professionals, other non-governmental organizations, active representatives of local governments and local communities.
By focusing on people, we aim to:
1. Support tourism industry professionals
We are aware of how rapidly changing economic conditions can affect the professional situation of people working in tourism. Our activities focus on improving working conditions, education and support for owners and employees, who often struggle with unstable employment, seasonal work or low earnings.
2. Respond to changes in the social and economic environment
The tourism industry has a major impact on local and global communities. Our activities aim to maximize benefits, raise awareness and highlight the importance of international cooperation, as well as to respond to dynamic micro- and macroeconomic conditions and to the impact of political turbulence around the world.
3. Promote responsible tourism
In the face of global challenges related to tourism, such as overcrowding in popular destinations and climate change, our goal is to promote responsible tourism practices that respect the interests of both tourists and the hosts of a given location. We strive to ensure that the tourism industry develops in a way that benefits everyone, both people and the environment.
4. Influence industry policy
We are aware of how important decisions made at the political level are, as they can shape the future of tourism. We work towards dialogue with government institutions and non-governmental organizations, promoting changes in tourism policy that will help create a fairer, more sustainable and more inclusive tourism environment.
5. Build strong ties between tourism and local communities
We are aware of how important it is for tourism to benefit not only tourists but also the residents of the places they visit. Our organization is involved in projects that support the integration of tourism with local needs and help create stable and sustainable sources of income for communities.
Our activities focus on influencing change in the tourism industry environment in the broadest sense. We want tourism to be a driving force for positive change that benefits both people and the environment, while respecting local traditions, values and needs. By supporting a responsible and sustainable approach to tourism, we are building a better future for everyone who is involved with it.
