The TOO Competence Academy is travelling around Poland with a series of free conferences, "Accessible Tourism 2026" ("Turystyka dostępna 2026"). Warsaw and Łódź are behind us, today we meet in Toruń, and the next stop is Poznań.

The series opened with a conference on 9 October in Warsaw, at Ptak Warsaw Expo during the TT Warsaw trade fair. The second meeting took place on 21 October in Łódź, at the Vienna House by Wyndham Andel’s hotel, ul. Ogrodowa 17.

Today, 26 October, the third conference of the series takes place in Toruń, at Hotel Młyn, ul. Łokietka 3.

Next stop: Poznań

The next stop is Poznań, 5 November; the venue will be announced soon. The conference lasts one day, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and attendance is free of charge. We invite employees of travel agencies, hotels, tourist attractions, carriers and event organisers.

What we teach

The motto of the series is "from the venue to the experience": accessibility as a standard of quality and service, which can be introduced even without rebuilding a facility.

  • Serving customers with various types of disability, as well as seniors and people with temporary limitations.
  • Professional and respectful communication: how to talk, how to help and what to avoid.
  • Practical assistance: for wheelchair users, and for blind, partially sighted, Deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
  • Solutions that can be implemented right away, including low-cost ones.

The conferences are led or co-led by people with disabilities: Beata Nawrat, Julita Kuczkowska, Dominika Lewicka-Klucznik and Dr Karol Kostrzewa. Participants practise with equipment such as wheelchairs, goggles, simulators, canes and blindfolds, and learn what professional assistance should look like.
